Instagram adds a Meta AI song creator to DMs: type lyrics, pick a genre, send an AI-generated song
By early October 2026 Instagram had added a "create a song" option to its DM sharing menu. Users enter lyrics and choose a music genre, and Meta AI generates a track to send to friends. Social Media Today compared it to Snapchat's paid Snap-to-Song. It puts AI music generation in front of Instagram's very large user base.
